THRILL OF THE HUNT SWEEPSTAKES
Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID IN MA, MI, VA AND WHERE PROHIBITED. OFFER NOT AVAILABLE TO MINORS.

  1. Eligibility: The Thrill of the Hunt Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old at the time of entry (except residents of Alabama; Alaska; New Jersey; Utah; Suffolk County and Nassau County, New York who must be 19 years or older at the time of entry) and have access to the Internet while the promotion is offered. Void in Massachusetts, Michigan, Virginia, and where prohibited by law or regulation. Employees, officers and representatives of U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Brands Inc. ("USSTB"), their respective parents and affiliates, distributors, advertising or promotion agencies, fulfillment vendors, as well as their immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members of each such employee are not eligible. The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Sweepstakes. Winning a Sweepstakes prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.
  2. Timing: The Sweepstakes begins at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time ("ET"), September 29, 2008 and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET, December 31, 2008 (the "Promotion Period").
  3. How to Enter: Visit www.thrillofthehuntsweeps.com during the Promotion Period and follow the links and instructions to complete the age verification and registration form. Once you complete registration, follow the instructions to enter. Potential winner is subject to verification before any prize will be awarded. Limit: A maximum of one (1) entry per day per participant is permitted. Multiple participants are not permitted to share the same email address. No participant will be awarded more than one (1) prize. Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the stated number of entries by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void that participant's entries and that participant will be disqualified.
  4. How to Win/Winner Selection: There will one (1) Grand Prize Winner, 1,822 First Prize Winners, and 1,934 Second Prize Winners selected via random drawing of all qualified entries received during the Promotion Period. The random drawing will be conducted on or about January 30, 2009 by an independent organization whose decisions are final. Odds of winning are determined by the total number of qualified entries received during the Promotion Period.
  5. Prizes:

    Grand Prize: The Grand Prize Winner will receive a prize package that includes the following: a hunting trip package for Grand Prize Winner plus three (3) adult guests to Fulton County Illinois from December 2, 2009 to December 6, 2009. Trip package includes coach-class airfare for four (4) from a major airport near winner’s home (determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion) to Moline, IL; three (3) days and four (4) nights accommodations at a hotel/lodge determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion (two (2) rooms, double occupancy); meals; ground transportation to/from airport and hotel/lodge; and fees for Illinois state hunting licenses. (Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $16,350.00). Grand Prize Winner also will receive: a certificate redeemable for a Mossberg® 4x4 Centerfire .30-06 Rifle (ARV: $618.00); a NikkoStirling™ NightEater Scope, 3-10x42 (ARV: $150.00); Brunton Echo™ 8x42 Open Frame Binoculars (ARV: $205.00); four (4) boxes of Hornady® .30-06 165 Grain InterBond Ammunition (ARV: $159.68); a Plano® Gun Guard All Weather Case (ARV: $189.00); four (4) Knight & Hale® Ultimate Whitetail Deer Calling Packages (each package includes a Carry Lite Bucky Jr. Decoy, a Rack Blaster Deer Call, a Short Wheezer Deer Call, and an Antler Rattle Bag) (ARV: $911.84); four (4) Wildlife Research Center® Scent Elimination packages (each package includes Scent Killer® Body Wash, Scent Killer® Liquid Clothing Wash, Scent Killer® Anti-Perspirant, Scent Killer® Spray, and a “Scent Free Secrets” book) (ARV: $227.76); four (4) Cyclops® Head Lamps (ARV: $80.00); and four (4) Gerber Paraframe Clip Folding Knives (ARV: $80.00). Total Prize Package (ARV: $18,971.28).

    First Prize: First Prize Winners will receive: Brunton Echo™ 8x42 Open Frame Binoculars (ARV: $205.00).

    Second Prize: Second Prize Winners will receive: a Gerber Paraframe Clip Folding Knife (ARV: $20.00).

    Prize Restrictions (All Prizes): No cash or other substitution, assignment or transfer of any prize is permitted, except by Sponsor, who reserves the right to substitute a prize or prize component with cash or another prize of comparable or greater value. Winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and fees associated with prize receipt and/or use. Prizes will be awarded "as is" with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied offered by Sponsor. Winners will be required to sign and return to Sponsor an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release in the required time period in order to claim his/her prize. If any potential Winner cannot be contacted, or fails to sign and return the affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release within the required time period, potential winner forfeits prize. If any potential winner cannot be contacted or if prize is returned as undeliverable, potential winner forfeits prize.

    Grand Prize Restrictions: Trip must be booked at least 30 days prior to departure. Travel must be roundtrip. Sponsor will determine airline and flight itinerary in its sole discretion. No refund or compensation will be made in the event of the cancellation or delay of any flight. Travel and accommodations are subject to availability. Travel is subject to the terms and conditions set forth in these Official Rules, and those set forth by the Sponsor’s airline carrier of choice as detailed in the passenger ticket contract. All expenses and incidental travel costs not expressly stated in the package description above, including but not limited to, incidentals, passenger tariffs or duties, surcharges, airport fees, service charges or facility charges, personal charges at lodging, security fees, taxes or other expenses are the responsibility solely of winner. Travel companions must be 18 years of age or older at time of travel. Travel companions must travel on same itinerary and at the same time as Grand Prize Winner. Travel companion must execute liability/publicity releases prior to issuance of travel documents. Travel restrictions, conditions and limitations may apply. If in the judgment of Sponsor air travel is not required due to Grand Prize Winner’s proximity to prize trip location, ground transportation will be substituted for roundtrip air travel at Sponsors’ sole discretion. Sponsor will not replace any lost, mutilated, or stolen tickets, travel vouchers or certificates. Actual value of trip may vary based on airfare fluctuations and distance between departure and destination.

    Grand Prize Winner will receive a certificate redeemable for the Mossberg® 4x4 Centerfire .30-06 Rifle at his/her local firearms retailer that holds a valid federal firearms license and all necessary state license(s) to sell firearms. To redeem certificate, Grand Prize Winner will be required to provide a valid driver’s license or proof of identification, and must meet all federal, state, and local requirements for receiving a firearm from his/her local firearms retailer that holds a valid Federal Firearms License and all necessary state licenses to sell firearms, which may include but are not limited to completing the appropriate ATF form and passing a NICS or similar background check. USSTB will not be responsible for any fees collected by the firearms retailer for performing these functions; such responsibilities will be at Grand Prize Winner’s sole expense. Failure to comply with any of the above requirements will result in forfeiture of this portion of Grand Prize.
  6. Publicity: Except where prohibited, participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes Winner's consent to Sponsor's use of Winner's name, likeness, photograph (including video), hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media without further payment or consideration.
  7. General Conditions: Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the Sweepstakes if fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Sponsor's reasonable control impairs the integrity of the Sweepstakes, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. In such event, Sponsor reserves the right to award the Grand Prize at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules, or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Any attempts by an individual to access and/or participate in the Sweepstakes via a bot script or other brute-force attack will result in that IP address becoming ineligible. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to cancel or modify the Sweepstakes without notice or liability if web site becomes infected with a virus, or is technically corrupt, or if the Sweepstakes otherwise cannot operate as planned. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any loss or damage to entrants' or to any other person's computer relating to, or resulting from, entering or downloading any information or software in connection with the Sweepstakes. Sponsor and its agents are not responsible for technical, hardware, software or telephone malfunctions of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, incomplete, inaccurate, garbled or delayed electronic communications, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes, or by any human or other errors that may occur in connection with the Sweepstakes. If any of the foregoing malfunctions, errors or defects renders the Sweepstakes incapable of operating as planned, Sponsor, at its sole discretion, may suspend or cancel the Sweepstakes immediately. Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
  8. Release: By entering the Sweepstakes, entrant agrees to release and hold harmless Sponsor and any its promotional partners and each of its and their parent, subsidiary, affiliate and related companies, and each of its and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents (collectively the “Released Parties”) from and against any losses, damages, rights, claim or cause of action of any kind arising, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, out of participation in the Sweepstakes or resulting directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize awarded in connection with the Sweepstakes, including without limitation personal injury, death, and/or property damage, as well as claims based on publicity rights, defamation, and/or invasion of privacy.
  9. Winners List/Official Rules: The results of the Sweepstakes and/or a copy of these Official Rules may be obtained by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the Thrill of the Hunt Sweepstakes, 20770 Westwood Drive, Strongsville OH 44149. Requests must be received by February 15, 2009. Vermont residents may omit return postage for the Official Rules.
  10. Name Removal Notification System: If you would like your name removed from Sponsor’s mailing list, please write to USSTB Opt-Out, 20770 Westwood Drive, Strongsville OH 44149 and your name will be removed within 60 days of the request.
